Tom Burch (scenic designer) - is thrilled to join La Musica Lirica for the first time this summer. He's based in North Carolina where he is on faculty at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Opera designs include many shows with Light Opera Works in Chicago (The Merry Widow, Candide, The Mikado, many others), as well as touring productions of Gilbert and Sullivan musicals for Chicago-based company, The Hypocrites (including a run of Pirates of Penzance at the Skirball Center at NYU which garnered a NY Times Critic's Pick). He also designed the US Premiere of Jukka Linkola's Rockland for Pine Mountain Music Festival. Other theatre credits include shows with major regional theatres across the country, including Pasadena Playhouse, Arizona Theatre Company, Berkeley Rep, The Goodman, Chicago Shakespeare, Court Theatre, Actors Theatre of Louisville, Milwaukee Rep, Cleveland Play House, and many others. He designed the off-Broadway production of Craig Wright's Mistakes Were Made (Barrow Street Theatre). Upcoming projects include shows at Warehouse Theater (Greenville SC), Burning Coal Theatre Company (Raleigh, NC), and Orlando Rep.
