Nathan De’Shon Myers is an American baritone, conductor, and educator whose 30-year international career encompasses opera, concert performance, and vocal education. Known for his versatility, commanding musicianship, and compelling stage presence, Myers has performed throughout the United States and Europe with leading opera companies and festivals, including Deutsche Oper Berlin, Dallas Opera, Chautauqua Opera, Salzburg Landestheater, Stadttheater Trier, Theater Neustrelitz, Opera Louisiane, and the Amalfi Coast Festival in Italy.

A former Fest Ensemble Soloist with Deutsche Oper Berlin, Myers performed a broad range of principal and supporting roles, including Dandini in La Cenerentola, Dancairo in Carmen, Schaunard in La bohème, Ping in Turandot, Marullo in Rigoletto, Matthieu in Andrea Chénier, Fiorello in Il barbiere di Siviglia, Silvano in Un ballo in maschera, and the Marchese d’Obigny in La traviata. His repertoire also includes the title roles in Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi and Mozart’s Don Giovanni, as well as Jonny in Krenek’s Jonny spielt auf.

Recent highlights include his Houston Grand Opera debut as Jim in Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess and Pinellino in Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi, as well as performances with the acclaimed American Spiritual Ensemble. His international engagements have also included appearances at La Folle Journée Festival in Nantes, France, and extensive concert and recital work throughout Europe and North America.

Myers is a tenured Professor of Voice at Arizona State University, where he teaches undergraduate and graduate singers and serves as Conductor of the ASU Gospel Choir. From 2023–2025, he served on the voice faculty of the American Institute of Musical Studies (AIMS) in Graz, Austria, an internationally recognized summer program preparing young artists for professional careers in opera and concert performance. He has also served as a conductor, clinician, and masterclass teacher throughout the United States and Europe.

A graduate of the University of Tulsa, Mannes College of Music, and Southern Methodist University, Myers is deeply committed to developing the next generation of vocal artists while maintaining an active international performance career. His work reflects a distinctive artistic philosophy rooted in musical excellence, stylistic versatility, collaboration, and the belief that powerful singing can connect audiences across cultures and generations.
