Maestro Kristjan Johannsson has performed many of the most important tenor roles of the Italian dramatic opera repertoire, in many of the best renown international opera houses. Some of the best-known production that he has participated in are mentioned below;

One of the famous opera performances from last century was probably Turandot, Puccini, that was staged and performed in The Forbidden City in Beijing (1998) but Kristjan Johannsson sang the premiere as Calaf in that production along with 2 other performances.

Kristjan Johannsson performed Radames in Aida (Verdi) in the biggest opera production up to date in Beijing 2003 along with being a frequent artist , singing Radames both beneath the pyramids in Egypt as well as in Arena di Verona, Italia for years singing various productions.

Kristjan Johannsson has been a frequent guest in many other important theaters, like at the Metropolitan Opera, Chicago Lyric Opera, San Francisco Opera in USA, both the Canadian Opera Company in Toronto as well as L'Opera De Montreal in Canada. In Europe he has performed in all the biggest opera houses like Vienna Staatsoper, The Zurich Opera House, Covent Garden, Berliner Staatsoper, Opera houses both in München and Hamburg, Paris Bastille, Madrid, Liceo di Barcelona and of course La Scala in Milano. No foreigner has performed as many roles in one year as he has in Italy.

Kristjan Johannsson has held various Masterclasses around the world during his long carrier.

Johannsson has participated in many concerts around the world with outstanding singers, he was a frequent guest at the Richard Tucker Music Foundation concert held annually in New York as well as participating in concerts at Carnegie Hall to name a few.
