Thomas Kasdorf is a collaborative pianist inspired by connections through various art forms merging through the piano. Active in the fields of chamber music, art song recital, opera, and musical theatre, he has concertized throughout the US and Canada. He received his Doctorate of Musical Arts from the Mead Witter School of Music at University of Wisconsin Madison, as a Paul Collins Distinguished Fellow. He is proud to serve as Lecturer in Vocal Coaching for UW-Madison, recently preparing productions of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Cosi fan tutte, I Wish It So: Marc Blitzstein- The Man in His Music, and What’s Past is Prologue: The Unfinished American Conversation.  

Thomas has long held an interest in musical theatre. He has performed in over 200 productions as an actor, pianist, musical director, stage director, and conductor. With a special interest in the works of Stephen Sondheim, he has been called upon to prepare productions or perform in reduced orchestrations of Sondheim’s works. He is currently an Artistic Associate of Four Seasons Theatre, and Artist in Residence with Middleton Community Orchestra, with whom he has performed works by Gershwin, Mozart, Grieg, Schumann, Tchaikovsky, Beethoven, Rachmaninoff, and Brahms. Thomas is the Artistic Director of Middleton Players Theatre, in Middleton, WI, where he resides.
